Job summary

The Rehabilitation Center of Independence is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse (RN) to lead nursing care in a skilled nursing facility during the night shift. You will supervise CNAs, coordinate daily clinical operations, administer medications, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting residents and families.

The ideal candidate holds an active Missouri RN license, BLS/CPR, 1–2 years in SNF/LTC, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Active MO RN license and BLS/CPR certification.
• 1–2 years of experience in SNF/LTC or geriatric care preferred.
• Ability to lead, supervise CNAs and coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents in SNF/LTC.
• Administer medications and treatments per orders and policy.
• Supervise CNAs and coordinate daily workflow.
• Assign care duties and communicate with families and providers.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and regulatory compliance.

Charge Nurse (RN) Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) / long-term care (LTC) setting
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility policies
• Perform resident assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
• Assign resident care duties and coordinate daily workflow
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and healthcare providers
• Complete accurate nursing documentation and maintain compliance with Missouri state regulations
• Promote resident safety, dignity, and quality of life

Charge Nurse (RN) Qualifications:

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• BLS/CPR Certification
• 1–2 years of experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric nursing preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Ability to lead, collaborate, and work effectively as part of a nursing team
