Job summary

The Arboretum of Winnie in Slaton, TX is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse – LVN or RN to lead care teams and support resident well-being.

You will supervise nurse aides, administer medications, implement care plans, document care, and collaborate with shifts to ensure safe, high-quality resident care. This is a full-time on-site role with strong emphasis on teamwork and process adherence.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN in good standing
• Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills
• Strong communication and ability to organize workflows
• Responds efficiently to emergencies and pays attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Direct Care Teams: provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate care for residents
• Administer Medications: safely administer medications as prescribed
• Implement Care Plans: execute care plans in line with policies, guidelines and orders
• Perform Treatments: deliver treatments to ensure resident health and comfort
• Transcribe Orders: accurately transcribe physician orders
• Document Resident Care: maintain timely and accurate documentation
• Collaborate During Shift Reports: participate in shift reports for care continuity
• Educate Support Staff: educate staff on nursing policies and resident needs
• Maintain Safety Standards: comply with infection control and body mechanics procedures
• Address Staffing Needs: arrange for replacement staff during shortages
