Job summary

Advocate Health’s General Medicine unit in Ardmore East seeks a Charge Nurse (8AE) to lead a 26-bed unit, coordinating shifts, staffing, and patient care for adults with complex, non-surgical illnesses. You will supervise staff, ensure safety, and collaborate with physicians to deliver individualized rehabilitation plans.

The role requires RN licensure in GA or NC, CPR certification, 2–4 years of progressive nursing experience, and leadership capability.

Qualifications

• Current Licensure as a professional registered nurse by the State of Georgia or State of North Carolina.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Unit Management - facilitate organization and safe patient care.
• Prepare shift assignments based on staff education and patient acuity.
• Monitor unit activities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Coordinate with Patient Care Supervisor/Director to adjust staff as needed.
• Supervise and delegate patient care; notify physicians as needed.
• Participate in nursing performance evaluations and meetings.
• Contribute to rehabilitation nursing standards and policies.
