Job summary

Kruse Village is seeking a licensed RN to join our team as a Charge Nurse, RN. This full-time overnight role offers 40 hours/week from 6pm-6am, with opportunities to provide compassionate clinical care to residents in a supportive environment.

You will lead the care team, mentor staff, coordinate with physicians and families, and uphold infection control and safety protocols. Our culture emphasizes hospitality, integrity, respect, and humor while advancing quality care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or senior living preferred.
• Strong assessment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with resident care plans, physician orders, and community policies.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time.
• Monitor resident conditions and intervene as needed to ensure health and safety.
• Support CNAs and other direct care staff to ensure consistent, quality care.
• Communicate changes in resident status to physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Participate in care planning, resident assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Uphold infection control, safety, and emergency response protocols at all times.
• Promote dignity, comfort, and respect in all resident interactions.
• Respond promptly to call lights and urgent care needs with a calm and professional presence.
• Mentor new staff and share knowledge with team members.
• Collaborate with families and other departments to meet holistic care goals.
• Represent the nursing team positively in community events and care conferences.

What You Bring to the Table (Besides Your Clinical Skills & Big Heart)

Licensure & Credentials:

• Active RN license in the state of Texas.
• CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Experience & Skills:

• Previous experience in skilled nursing or senior living preferred, but not required.
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to stay organized and calm under pressure while leading others.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, move, and assist residents as needed.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout a full shift.
