Job summary

Safety Harbor Surgery Center in Florida is seeking a Charge Nurse for PREOP/PACU to provide continuous, high-quality perioperative care. The role includes ongoing patient assessment, safety, and privacy, as the patient emerges from anesthesia.

The Charge Nurse may assist physicians in the procedure rooms, manage conscious sedation, and coordinate postoperative care to readiness for discharge. A strong nursing background and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients in PREOP/PACU.
• Evaluate patient condition and ensure safety, comfort, and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks and sterile techniques as needed.
• Manage care from preoperative assessment to discharge planning.

Charge Nurse (PREOP/PACU) at Safety Harbor Surgery Center

The Charge PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
