Job summary

Safety Harbor Surgery Center is seeking a Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuity and high-quality care for patients emerging from anesthesia. The role includes assisting physicians with conscious sedation, maintaining patient safety and privacy, and coordinating discharge planning.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited RN program, an active Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and 2 years PACU or ICU experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active Florida RN license; BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile technique as appropriate.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) at Safety Harbor Surgery Center

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
