Job summary

CHI Mercy Health in Roseburg, Oregon is seeking a Charge RN to lead a group of frontline nurses in a dynamic acute care setting. You will advocate for staff development and ensure high-quality patient care while guiding the unit through challenging conversations and staffing needs.

You will mentor team members, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and coordinate shifts to meet patient and unit goals. A strong communicator with prior PCU/ICU RN experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Oregon RN License required.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Two years' recent RN experience in PCU/ICU or similar.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a department of frontline nurses; ensure telemetry, ACC, PCT/CNAs, and RNs coverage.
• Act as clinical resource for complex patient care and procedures.
• Mentor and coach staff to meet patient and unit needs; promote safety, quality, and satisfaction.
• Conduct rounds to ensure commitment to safety and quality initiatives.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
• Demonstrate accountability to the department's strategic vision.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

• Performs basic skills of all staff reporting to Charge Nurse during shift including telemetry, ACC, PCT/CNAs and RNs. Able and willing to fill in as needs arise.

• Functions as a Clinical Resource to staff in the management of complex patients, procedures and situations.

• Mentors, coaches, and supports team members to meet patient and unit needs, gain skills and effectively adapt to change.

• Rounds on staff and patients to ensure commitment and compliance with safety, quality, and satisfaction initiatives.

• Promotes a positive, collaborative, and team oriented work environment.

• Demonstrates and holds team members accountable to strategic vision of service, quality/safety, stewardship and satisfaction.

Shift: 6:30pm - 7am

Core Schedule: Week 1 Thu, Fri, Sat; Week 2 Tue, Wed, Thu

Job Requirements

Required

• Oregon RN License

• AHA BLS

• ACLS

• Two (2) years recent experience as an RN in PCU/ICU

• Associate's Degree in Nursing

• Previous Charge RN experience in PCU

• Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute

• PCCN

$61.34 - $83.32 /hour
