The Charge Nurse will guide nurse aides, administer medications, implement care plans, perform treatments, document care, and participate in shift reports, ensuring safety and compliance with policies and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN in good standing and licensed to practice in the state.
• Excellent clinical, assessment and documentation abilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to organize workflows.
• Ability to respond effectively to emergencies with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Direct Care Teams: guide Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate care for residents.
• Administer Medications: safely administer prescribed medications.
• Implement Care Plans: execute care plans per policies and physician orders.
• Perform Treatments: deliver treatments as required for resident health.
• Transcribe Orders: accurately transcribe physician orders.
• Document Resident Care: maintain timely documentation and nursing assessments.
• Collaborate During Shift Reports: participate in shift reports for continuity.
• Educate Support Staff: train staff on nursing policies and resident needs.
• Maintain Safety Standards: follow infection control and body mechanics procedures.
• Address Staffing Needs: arrange for replacements as needed.

Your Impact as a Charge Nurse – LVN or RN

In this role, you will:

• Direct Care Teams: Provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate care for residents.

• Administer Medications: Properly and safely administer resident medications as prescribed.

• Implement Care Plans: Execute resident care plans in compliance with company policies, federal guidelines, and physician orders.

• Perform Treatments: Deliver treatments as required to ensure resident health and comfort.

• Transcribe Orders: Accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.

• Document Resident Care: Maintain timely and accurate documentation in resident charts and complete required nursing assessments.

• Collaborate During Shift Reports: Participate in shift reports to ensure seamless communication and care continuity.

• Educate Support Staff: Implement nursing policies and procedures, educating staff on the care needs of residents.

• Maintain Safety Standards: Promote a safe working environment by complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.

• Address Staffing Needs: Respond to staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff as necessary.
