You will guide nurse aides, implement care plans, perform treatments, and ensure a safe, compliant environment while addressing staffing needs and maintaining high standards of care.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN license in good standing.
• Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and ability to organize workflows effectively.
• Responds efficiently to emergencies and pays attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Direct Care Teams: Provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate care for residents.
• Administer medications safely and as prescribed.
• Implement care plans in line with policies, guidelines, and physician orders.
• Perform treatments to maintain resident health and comfort.
• Transcribe physician orders accurately and promptly.
• Document resident care in charts and complete nursing assessments.
• Collaborate during shift reports to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate staff on nursing policies and residents’ care needs.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards on the unit.
• Address staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff as needed.

Your Impact as a Charge Nurse – LVN or RN

In this role, you will:

• Direct Care Teams: Provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate care for residents.

• Administer Medications: Properly and safely administer resident medications as prescribed.

• Implement Care Plans: Execute resident care plans in compliance with company policies, federal guidelines, and physician orders.

• Perform Treatments: Deliver treatments as required to ensure resident health and comfort.

• Transcribe Orders: Accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.

• Document Resident Care: Maintain timely and accurate documentation in resident charts and complete required nursing assessments.

• Collaborate During Shift Reports: Participate in shift reports to ensure seamless communication and care continuity.

• Educate Support Staff: Implement nursing policies and procedures, educating staff on the care needs of residents.

• Maintain Safety Standards: Promote a safe working environment by complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.

• Address Staffing Needs: Respond to staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff as necessary.
