Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo seeks a Charge Nurse to assume shift responsibility for direct and indirect nursing care, coordinating a multidisciplinary team to achieve safe, optimal outcomes. The role emphasizes patient-centered care and leadership to support the healthcare team.

You will develop and evaluate care plans, uphold safety standards, and ensure staffing aligns with patient census and acuity.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Current Texas nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the State of Texas
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Must successfully pass pre-employment assessment(s)
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire; not required to maintain

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care using the nursing process
• Maintains a safe environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff
• Assesses patient safety risks and applies appropriate precautions
• Provides leadership and support to the healthcare team and delegates tasks
• Ensures staffing levels meet census, acuity, and resource needs
