Job summary

Berkshire Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in West Babylon, NY, is seeking a caring Charge Nurse (RN or LPN) to join our growing team. This role leads nursing staff, coordinates admissions and discharges, and ensures high-quality patient care in a skilled nursing facility.

Schedule: 8am-4pm, 5 days a week with rotating weekends. Minimum qualifications include NYS RN or LPN licensure, BLS, and strong leadership. Benefits include 401K, health, vision, and dental insurance.

Qualifications

• RN or LPN licensure in New York State is required.

• Experience with care plans and strong documentation skills.
• BLS Certification (required).

Responsibilities

We are seeking a caring and dedicated Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to be a Charge Nurse in our rapidly growing team at our skilled nursing facility in West Babylon!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintain accurate patient records and closely monitor vital signs.

• Lead and support our dedicated nursing staff, providing supervision and assistance.

• Manage daily administrative tasks, including scheduling, assigning duties, and overseeing patient care.

• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges for seamless transitions.

• Communicate patient status to the Unit Manager.

• Foster a nurturing and collaborative work environment, offering guidance to staff members.

• Provide empathetic support to patients and their families during challenging times.

• Collaborate with doctors and administrators to optimize patient care and outcomes.

• Communicate protocol updates efficiently to ensure smooth operations.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, creating a safe environment for all.

• Keep essential reports up-to-date to maintain operational efficiency.

• Respond swiftly and calmly to any emergencies or issues that arise.

Minimum Qualifications include:

• Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in New York State OR Currently is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in New York State.

• Strong leadership and management skills
