Job summary

Berkshire Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in West Babylon, NY, is seeking a caring Charge Nurse (RN or LPN) to join our growing team. This role leads nursing staff, coordinates admissions and discharges, and ensures high-quality patient care in a skilled nursing facility.

Schedule: 8am-4pm, 5 days a week with rotating weekends. Minimum qualifications include NYS RN or LPN licensure, BLS, and strong leadership. Benefits include 401K, health, vision, and dental insurance.

Qualifications

• RN or LPN licensure in New York State is required.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Knowledge of Federal and State health regulations.
• Experience with care plans and strong documentation skills.
• BLS Certification (required).

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient records and monitor vital signs.
• Lead and supervise nursing staff with guidance.
• Manage daily administrative tasks including scheduling and assignments.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Communicate patient status to Unit Manager.
• Foster a nurturing, collaborative work environment.
• Provide empathetic support to patients and families.
• Collaborate with doctors and administrators to optimize care.
