Job summary

Granada Rehabilitation & Wellness Center is seeking a Charge Nurse to lead a designated nursing unit in Eureka, CA. The position offers a starting wage of $32.00 per hour and a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new full-time hires.

The Charge Nurse will supervise nursing staff, coordinate daily administrative duties, delegate resident care, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an approved RN or LVN program
• Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board
• Experience in a long-term care setting is preferred
• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to provide patient care per applicable standards, policies, and procedures
• Strong critical thinking to develop plans of care
• Knowledge of nursing principles and standards of care
• Willingness to supervise staff and collaborate with professionals
• Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing, comprehension)
• CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily administrative duties of an assigned nursing unit, including schedules and nursing assignments
• Delegate resident care and supervise nursing staff
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
• Maintain safe, efficient shift operations and monitor resident status
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and ensure infection control practices
• Communicate with patients, families, and medical staff promptly about treatment and care
• Supervise and evaluate unit personnel and coordinate with other departments
• Maintain HIPAA protection and participate in QA and infection control activities
• Attend meetings and provide staff coaching and professional development
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing
