Job summary

The Rehabilitation Center of Oakland is seeking a Charge Nurse to coordinate daily administrative duties of an assigned nursing unit, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality resident care under the supervision of the Director of Nursing Services.

Qualified candidates will be licensed RNs or LVNs with California licensure, CPR certification, and strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills to manage admissions, rounds, and interdisciplinary care planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or approved RN/LVN program.
• Current nursing license in good standing with the state Board.
• Experience in long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily administrative duties of an assigned nursing unit.
• Supervise nursing staff and assign responsibilities.
• Monitor compliance with facility procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings.
• Ensure infection control practices and safety standards are followed.
• Provide timely communication with patients, families, and medical staff.
• Offer guidance and coaching to staff as needed.
