Job summary

USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is seeking a Charge Entry Specialist to accurately enter charge data for surgery and imaging patients, ensuring all chargeable items are captured correctly.

The role involves using Cerner or similar systems, adding modifiers and payer information, and collaborating with medical records and billing to maintain accurate records and generate valid reports. A high school education and medical office experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Experience in a medical business office, medical records, or accounts receivable preferred.
• Familiarity with Cerner and Microsoft Office.
• Strong data entry and numerical accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Enter charge data for surgery and imaging patients accurately.
• Capture charges for implants, modifiers, and payer-specific information.
• Review charge sheets against medical records to ensure accuracy.
• Manage revenue cycle reporting, including volume and discrepancy checks.
• Ensure timely charge entry and compliance with policies.
