Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a dedicated billing/auditing professional to ensure accurate charge capture and maximize revenue. You will educate clinical staff on correct charting, audit operative records daily, and collaborate with Purchasing and Supply Chain to maintain accurate charge master data.

The role requires familiarity with CPT/HCPCS/ICD coding, experience with hospital billing systems, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; associate degree preferred.
• 2 years in healthcare with medical terminology.
• 2 years in hospital/clinic billing and/or auditing.
• 1 year experience in a surgical setting preferred.
• Experience using Surginet, Discern Analytics, and Cerner programs.
• Understanding of CPT, HCPCS and ICD9/ICD10 preferred.
• Excel experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Capture charges to maximize revenue by auditing charge entries.
• Educate clinical staff on proper charting to reduce errors.
• Ensure charge master codes are added and entered correctly with Purchasing.
• Complete daily audits and review operative records for accuracy.
• Identify charge errors from operative records and notes.
• Maintain monitoring reports to aid staff education and accountability.
• Enter implant records into operative records for charging when needed.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain to create charge capture training materials.
• Inform OR staff and management of charge entry changes and training.
• Support professional development planning with manager.
• Attend in-services and stay updated with professional activities.
