Cooley LLP in New York is seeking an associate with 3–6 years of Chapter 11 bankruptcy and restructuring experience to join the Business Restructuring & Reorganization practice.

Ideal candidates will have experience representing corporate debtors, creditors committees, individual creditors, and third-party purchasers, and a background in managing client relationships on complex matters. Strong academic credentials required.

Qualifications

• Three to six years of experience at a leading law firm handling Chapter 11 bankruptcies and restructurings.
• Experience representing corporate debtors, creditors committees, individual creditors, and third party purchasers.
• Experience in a corporate restructuring/bankruptcy department and/or clerking for a bankruptcy judge.
• High academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.

Responsibilities

• Managing client relationships and day-to-day workflow for bankruptcy matters.
• Handling work across different stages of corporate bankruptcy and restructuring.
