Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Chaplain PRN to provide spiritual care and education to patients, families, and staff within the Florida hospitals. The role includes after-hours on-call coverage, with shifts from 4:00pm to 8:00am and evenings plus call.

Minimum qualifications include four CPE units, a Bachelor's degree with ministry experience, and ACPE credentialing eligibility. Preferred candidates hold a Master’s or higher and have strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of a minimum of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
• Bachelor's degree, 3 years of ministry experience & satisfactory completion of one (1) or two (2) units of CPE with expectation to get four (4) CPEs within two (2) years of hire.
• Credentialing, certification, or eligibility within two (2) years by a certifying organization or ACPE educator.
• One (1) year of ministry experience.

Chaplains provide spiritual care to patients,familiesand caregivers, fostering spiritual resources for healing. Chaplains may pray with patients that received a recent diagnosis or before they head to surgery, visit Labor and Delivery when a mom delivers a stillborn baby or themommiscarries or provide support to our veteran patients. Spiritual care is acomponentof healing, so meeting others where they are and helping them during troubled waters is a vital part of a Chaplain's role.

A caregiver in this position worksPRN hours and will provide coverage after hour on call requests for Cleveland Clinic Florida Hospitals

This position is on call from 4:00pm to 8:00am from Mondaythrough Fridayand 8:00am to 8:00am Saturday through Monday morning.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide education and consultation for physicians,nursesand other caregivers.

• Provide spiritual care and counseling for patients, families and caregivers of all faith groups,agesand conditions.

• Foster spiritual resources for healing.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Satisfactory completion of a minimum of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education
• Offset: Bachelor's degree, 3 years of ministry experience & satisfactory completion of one (1) or two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education with expectation to get four (4) CPEs within two (2) years of hire
• Credentialing, certification, or eligibility within two (2) years by a certifying organization or certification as an Association of Clinical Pastor Education (ACPE educator)
• One (1) year of ministry experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Master's degree of Divinity or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to climb stairs, pull, push and facilitate movement of the patient.
• Must have normal or correctable vision and hearing to be able to hear normal conversations.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
