Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital is seeking a Chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients, families, and caregivers on a PRN, on-call basis. Availability 24/7 and on-site within 30 minutes are required. You will educate and support staff while delivering compassionate spiritual care across diverse faiths and ages.

The ideal candidate has CPE units (or equivalent), ministry experience, and ACPE credentials or eligibility. A master’s in Divinity is preferred and beneficial for advancement.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of a minimum of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
• OR Bachelor's degree, 3 years of ministry experience & satisfactory completion of one (1) or two (2) units of CPE with expectation to obtain four (4) CPE within two years of hire
• Credentialing, certification, or eligibility within two (2) years by a certifying organization or ACPE educator certification
• One (1) year of ministry experience
• Master’s degree of Divinity or equivalent (preferred)

Chaplains provide spiritual care to patients, families and caregivers, fostering spiritual resources for healing. Spiritual care is a component of healing, so meeting others where they are and helping them during troubled waters is a vital part of a Chaplain’s role.

A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) on-call hours. You must have availability 24/7 and be on-site within 30 mins.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to climb stairs, pull, push, and facilitate movement of the patient.
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
• In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
• In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $24.50

Maximum hourly: $24.50
