Job summary

ABB Drive Products seeks a Channel Applications Engineer to provide technical sales execution to channel partners and customers in the US. You will apply deep product knowledge of LV drives, PLC/ HMI, and motor applications to design tailored solutions and support the channel team with product expertise.

The role requires a Bachelor's in electrical engineering (or related field) with 4+ years' LV drive experience or an Associate's with 6+ years, and willingness to travel over 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 4+ years LV drive applications OR Associate's degree with 6+ years experience.
• Exceptional technical application and communication skills.
• Understanding of Serial and Ethernet communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, Etc).
• Programming experience in industrial PLCs (ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, Square D, or others).
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Requires a valid driver's license and passport with ability to travel > 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Apply Technical Knowledge - Design and recommend tailored solutions based on a deep knowledge of the portfolio and capabilities to meet customers' unique needs.
• Customer Relations - Strengthen existing customer relationships and address complaints promptly.
• Sales Techniques - Use fundamental sales techniques and support the Channel team with presentations and demonstrations.
• Analyze drive, PLC/HMI motor application problems and coordinate activities to ensure customer satisfaction.
