Job summary

Sealed Air Corporation seeks a Set-Up Technician in Romeoville, IL to set up and change over bag‑making equipment for the production team. You will work with maintenance to improve processes and respond to set‑up issues promptly, ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing, knowledge of food processing or packaging, and experience with machine operation, electrical/PLC controls, and related tooling. Shift is mornings, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of food processing or packaging.
• Machine operation, tools/mechanical knowledge, or maintenance experience required.
• Ability to work safely with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring, controls, PLC, and mechanical systems including bearings, shafts, rollers, pneumatics.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley Logix/Studio 5000 & Oracle WMS.

Responsibilities

• Set up and changeover bag-making equipment for production.
• Collaborate with maintenance to improve processes and repair techniques.
• Perform preventive maintenance routines on lines and tooling for the setup process.
• Review batch orders and bag specs to retrieve setup information.
• Manage all changeovers and setups, adhering to allotted times.
• Remove tooling, inspect for damage, and maintain tooling and machines.
• Verify setup and sample runs for customer specifications.
• Support production operators to maintain efficiency and quality.

Position Overview
The Set‑Up Technician will be responsible for setting up and changing over bag‑making equipment tosupport the production team. The Set‑Up Technician will also be responsible for working with the maintenance teamto improve existing processes and repair techniques when no set‑ups are in their scope of work for the day.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Conducts themself safely and courteously in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Efficiently communicates changeover and set‑up issues promptly
• Performs preventive maintenance routines on lines per HIPPO Tasks, tooling, and equipment related to the set‑up process
• Reviews batch order and Bag Spec to retrieve information for Set‑Up.
• Manages all changeovers and set‑ups, adhering to and maintaining allotted times.
• Collects and manages all SOC’s
• Adheres to KPI’s set forth for changeovers
• Removes tooling and inspects for damage.
• Maintains tooling and machines; if required, generate a HIPPO WO.
• Remove and install tooling and perform machine set‑up.
• Verify setup and set up samples for accuracy per customer specification.
• Support Production Operators; achieve and maintain efficiency and quality of product and scrap yield
• Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.
