Job summary

Sealed Air Corporation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician in North Carolina to service and maintain production equipment on a night shift. Starting wage is $30 per hour, with healthcare benefits available from day one and a 401k match with profit sharing.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of production equipment to keep lines operational.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to identify and replace failed components such as bearings, belts, motors.
• Read and interpret manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
• Dismantle/assemble machines and install parts using blueprints and hand tools.
• Calibrate and adjust devices and production control systems.
• Understand facilities and mechanical/electrical systems and troubleshoot.
• Assist other maintenance and production team members in support of plant goals.
• Determine tools and equipment needed to perform the work.

Our growing company is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team!

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform trouble shooting, calibration, and repair of production equipment as needed to always keep lines operational.
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance to identify and replace failed components such as bearings, belts, motors, etc.
• Can read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
• Dismantles/disassembles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, using specifications and/or blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools.
• Calibrations and adjustments on various types of devices and production control systems.
• Understands facilities, mechanical/electrical systems and their component functions and relationships; and is competent in their troubleshooting and repair
• Assist other maintenance and production team members as required in support of plant goals.
• Equipment selection - able to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to perform the work

Required Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Maintenance Program Certification or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance capacity in a production setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency or documented certifications in at least 8/10 of the following skills: electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting/programming, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, compressors, welding, plumbing, conveyers, hydraulics, and pumps.
• Installation, troubleshooting, repair knowledge of electrical systems including 480v and below
• Demonstrated proficiency or documented certifications for diagnosing & troubleshooting 24V controls systems and devices
• Able to interface and cooperate well with production line workers and supervisors, with a strong customer service mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to identify areas of improvement driving efficiency, profitability, or safety improvements.
• Basic math, reading, and computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel, Outlook)
• Manufacturing safety program familiarity (PPE, LOTO, Arc Flash)
• Ability to solve problems and apply critical thinking.
• Able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.
• Ability to operate cranes, forklift, and other related equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with plastic production equipment a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
• Pushing, pulling, lifting at least 50lbs.
• Eye/hand coordination.
