Job summary

University of California, Davis seeks a Writer/Editor reporting to the Executive Director to serve as a senior executive writer and strategic communications partner for the Chancellor. This role develops complex, high-visibility communications that advance priorities and thought leadership for UC Davis.

The position encompasses researching, writing, editing editorials, speeches, and presentations, tailoring messages for national, statewide, and regional audiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience in communications for a large, complex institution.
• Experience researching, writing, editing high-level communications across formats (speeches, op-eds, thought leadership).
• Ability to synthesize complex issues and translate findings into clear, persuasive communications for diverse audiences.
• Advanced research, analytical, critical-thinking and fact-verification skills to develop evidence-based arguments.
