Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University seeks a Professor/Chair for Electrical & Computer Engineering to provide academic leadership, oversee research, teaching, ABET accreditation, and service activities. The chair reports to the Dean and guides faculty and staff toward strategic goals and graduate competitiveness.

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in EE/CE, Full Professor rank, and a track record of scholarly publications and extramural funding.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Academic rank at appointment: Full Professor.
• Minimum six years of demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and scholarly activities.
• Administrative leadership experience leading teams within a department.
• Strong scholarly publications and extramural funding.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to motivate faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

• Serve as academic leader and chief administrative officer of the ECEN department.
• Lead faculty and staff to advance research, teaching, ABET accreditation, and service missions.
• Oversee strategic budget, recruitment, mentoring, curriculum advancement.
• Cultivate corporate, donor, and alumni partnerships.
• Foster research excellence aligned with college clusters and graduate competitiveness.
