Job summary

Chaffee County is seeking a dependable Landfill Equipment Operator to support daily operations with heavy equipment, site maintenance, scale house duties, and friendly customer service. Work is outdoors in varying conditions on a Wednesday–Saturday schedule of four 10.5-hour days with a meal break.

A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license with a clean MVR are required; experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform outdoor work in varying conditions.

Chaffee County Landfill Equipment Operator
Chaffee County seeks a dependable and safety-minded Landfill Equipment Operator to support daily Landfill operations through heavy equipment operation, site maintenance, scale house support, and customer service. The qualified candidate works well within a structured environment, follows standard operating procedures, cooperates effectively with team members, and takes pride in consistent, hands-on work. This position includes outdoor work in varying conditions as part of regular operations and works a Wednesday‑Saturday schedule consisting of four 10.5‑hour workdays, including a meal break. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record. 1+ years of experience operating heavy equipment and hand/power tools preferred. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt, hourly position with a wage range of $23.43 to $28.71.
