Job summary

The University of New Mexico, Office of the University Controller, also known as Financial Services, located on Main Campus is responsible for all central accounting functions for the University.

Within Financial Services is the Contract & Grant Accounting (CGA) department which has an exciting opportunity for an Accountant 1 to support the research community in external funding management and compliance with funding terms and university policies.

Qualifications

• Experience balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Setting up new sponsored projects in CGA's award and accounting system
• Timely review and approval of departmental transactions on sponsored projects
• Verification and submission of monthly invoices
• Interpret compliance requirements from multiple funding sources and ongoing monitoring of awards for verification of compliance
• Other duties that support the Fiscal Monitors and the department
