Job summary

CLA is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the growing State & Local Government (CAAS) practice in Central Illinois, with opportunities in Peoria, Champaign, Bloomington, and Dixon. The role will drive strategic initiatives, grow outsourcing operations, and partner with client leadership on financial analyses and budgeting.

Required are 8+ years in accounting/finance, a Bachelor's degree, and experience in State & Local Government; CPA is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; combination of experience may be accepted.
• 8 years of accounting/financial experience required.
• Experience in State & Local Government is required.
• Business development experience and team growth track record preferred.
• CPA not required but highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with client leadership on operational and strategic issues using financial analysis.
• Monitor budgets and present operational metrics.
• Develop deep GAAP knowledge and financial/operational insights for industries.
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, and financial accounting.
• Oversee capital planning, risk management, and board interactions.
• Lead multiple client engagements and build strong client relationships.
