Job summary

Health West, Inc. is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy, budgeting, reporting, and risk management for a mission-driven community health center.

The CFO will oversee accounting, revenue cycle, contracts, insurance, and 403(b) administration, ensuring GAAP compliance and HRSA grant oversight while guiding sustainable growth. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
• MBA (preferred).
• CPA or CMA designation (preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in healthcare, preferably in a community health center or similar setting.
• Minimum of 3 years of grant management experience, including compliance with federal and state grant regulations.
• Experience in nonprofit financial oversight, including IRS reporting and compliance (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Clinically Integrated Networks (CIN) (preferred).
• Experience in revenue cycle billing and management (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead strategic financial planning to support Health West’s growth and objectives.
• Partner with the CEO and Executive Team to align financial goals with organizational priorities.
• Present financial updates, trends, and projections to the Board of Directors.
• Oversee accounting, payroll, AP/AR, and general ledger operations with strong internal controls.
• Direct revenue cycle management, contracts, insurance, and grants oversight.
• Ensure GAAP, HRSA grant requirements, nonprofit standards, IRS filings, and risk management practices.
• Build and mentor a high-performing finance team and promote a culture of transparency and accountability.
