Confidential in New York, NY is seeking a hands-on, commercially oriented finance executive to lead the accounting and finance function, potentially titled VP Finance or CFO. Reporting to the CEO and PE sponsor, this role combines strong accounting with strategic oversight to scale a growing professional services business.

The ideal candidate will have senior finance leadership experience (CPA preferred), deep project-based accounting know-how, and a proven track record in driving performance,

Qualifications

• CPA with public accounting experience preferred.
• Senior finance leadership experience (CFO/VP Finance) required.
• Experience in project-based businesses, ideally PE-backed or related to professional services.

Responsabilités

• Lead accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial planning.
• Improve visibility into project profitability, labor utilization, margins, cash flow, and key operating metrics.
• Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, reporting capabilities, and the finance organization.
• Oversee systems modernization and evaluate/implement financial software to support growth.
• Partner with CEO and PE sponsor as trusted financial advisor; support M&A due diligence and integration.
