Recruit CRM is assisting a well-established professional services firm in searching for a Controller/CFO to lead financial operations nationwide. The role covers accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and internal controls while partnering with the CEO on growth strategy.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in finance leadership, CPA or MBA preferred, and a hands-on, low-ego leadership style capable of guiding a small accounting team and interacting with ownership and clients.

Qualifications

• Experience leading finance teams with P&L ownership and strategic input.
• Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Strong communication with CEOs, owners, and external advisors.
• Hands-on in a lean finance environment with controls and governance.
• Bachelor’s in accounting/finance; professional designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the company’s financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
• Lead month-end close and ensure accurate, timely financial statements.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital.
• Develop KPIs and reporting to support executive decisions.
• Oversee billing, collections, and client invoice questions.
• Partner with CEO on pricing and strategic financial decisions.
• Strengthen internal controls and governance; oversee external relationships.
• Lead and develop a three-person accounting team.
