Job summary

The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University is seeking a Division Head for the CFD Division in the Fluid Dynamics and Acoustics Office (FDAO). You will lead a team of about fifteen engineers and research faculty, guiding design, analysis, and development of state-of-the-art CFD tools for DoD and industry sponsors.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science field with 10+ years related experience.
• Proven PI experience in CFD field.
• Strong CFD research track record in hydromechanics, hydroacoustics, maneuvering and controls, propulsion.
• Experience managing people with supervisory responsibilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication; past white papers/reports.
• Eligibility for access to Top Secret level clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform design and analyses using CFD tools for diverse applications.
• Lead technical developments in CFD including code development, V&V, and new tools.
• Provide technical oversight of complex simulations and ensure high-quality outputs.
• Perform organizational leadership including recruitment, development and retention.
