Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Division Head for the CFD Division within ARL's FDAO to lead a team of about fifteen engineers and researchers in advancing state-of-the-art CFD tools for DoD and industrial sponsors.

The role blends deep fluid dynamics expertise with strategic management, business development, and personnel leadership, with opportunities for collaboration across ARL and external partners, and requires eligibility for a government clearance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in engineering or science with 10+ years related experience.
• Proven Principal Investigator track record in CFD.
• Strong publication record in CFD, hydromechanics, hydroacoustics, or related fields.
• Experience managing people and supervising staff.
• Clearance eligibility to access Top Secret information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; writing white papers/reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform design and performance analyses using CFD tools for diverse applications.
• Oversee technical developments in CFD, including code development, V&V, and HPC improvements.
• Provide technical oversight of complex simulations and coordinate across the organization.
• Lead CFD division personnel management, recruitment, development, and retention.
