Job summary

Penn State University’s Applied Research Laboratory in State College, PA seeks a Division Head for the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Division within the Fluid Dynamics and Acoustics Office (FDAO). The CFD Division Head will lead a premier group of engineers and research faculty to bring state-of-the-technology CFD tools to DoD and industrial sponsors.

ARL is a DoD SkillBridge partner; on-site in State College with potential hybrid options.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in engineering or science plus ten years of related experience.
• Proven PI track record in CFD and related fields.
• Strong research output in computational fluid dynamics.
• Experience leading teams and supervising staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eligible for access to classified information at Top Secret level

Responsibilities

• Lead design and performance analyses using CFD tools for varied applications.
• Drive technical developments in CFD, V&V, and new tool/methodology adoption.
• Provide technical oversight of complex simulations across the division.
• Perform organizational leadership including recruitment and development
