The Stanford Humanities Center is seeking an experienced CESTA Programs Manager to join the Center staff on the Stanford campus. This exempt, three-year, fixed-term position reports to the Executive Director and supports programs including Summer Undergraduate Research, Faculty Research Projects, and DH Research Scholars Graduate Program.
The role is hybrid (minimum 3 days on site) and requires coordinating communications, managing budgets, and assisting with grants and outreach activities.
This position has been deemed critical by the School of Humanities and Sciences Dean's Office and is exempt from the hiring freeze.
This is a hybrid position based on the Stanford campus, with a minimum of 3 days per week on site.
The budgeted base salary range for this position is $99,000-$105,000 per annum.

Since its founding in 1980, the Stanford Humanities Center (The Center) has been sponsoring advanced research into the historical, philosophical, literary, artistic, and cultural dimensions of the human experience. It is an independent research center reporting to the Dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences. The Center's annual fellows, international visitors, research workshops, and annual public events strengthen the intellectual and creative life of the university and foster innovative and interdisciplinary scholarship and teaching. The Center for Spatial and Textual Analysis (CESTA), part of the Humanities Center, embraces emerging digital methodologies and tools to complement existing traditional research methods of analysis and interpretation. CESTA's interdisciplinary research projects explore places, global spaces, texts, textual artefacts, data visualization, digital curation, preservation and display, linked data and interoperability, and sustainability. As a scholarly community, CESTA supports and encourages cutting-edge work across the humanities and the interpretative social sciences. Through research projects, programs, seminars, workshops and informal initiatives, CESTA is dedicated to nurturing, training and professionalizing scholars of the future from a variety of disciplines, who will learn how to ask and answer data-driven questions focused on cultural, environmental, historical, social, and textual issues. Together, the Stanford Humanities Center and CESTA serve as the hub for an international network of fellows, visiting scholars, students, and alumni.
The Stanford Humanities Center (the Center) is seeking to hire an experienced and highly motivated CESTA Programs Manager who will be a member of the Center staff reporting to the Executive Director and who will work under the general supervision of the CESTA Faculty Director. The CESTA Programs Manager will manage, coordinate, and support programmatic activities, including its Summer Undergraduate Research Program, Faculty Research Projects, weekly seminars, public programs, and DH Research Scholars Graduate Program. In collaboration with the Center’s Communications Manager, this individual will be responsible for updating and maintaining the CESTA website, creating announcements, and other communications as needed. This position is expected to be the point of contact for the labs currently hosted at CESTA, providing guidance on space use policies in consultation with the CESTA Faculty and the Executive Director and supported by the Center’s Building Manager and the CESTA Administrative Associate. The CESTA Programs Manager is an exempt, three-year, fixed-term, benefits-eligible position that begins on the start date and may be renewable in the future based on programmatic need and funding availability.
This is a 100% FTE, exempt position. This position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered for an option of telecommuting (hybrid of working on-site and off-site), subject to operational need.
Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. Program administration and or research experience may be required.
