Job summary

Jobot is seeking a seasoned Certified Welding Inspector to lead welding quality on-site in Mooresville, NC. You will review drawings, supervise weld inspections, and ensure compliance with all welding codes and procedures within a fast-growing engineering team.

The role requires strong detail orientation, excellent communication, and the ability to train welders while supporting process improvements across projects. This is a permanent on-site position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as Certified Welding Inspector in engineering or related industry.
• Certification as Welding Inspector from AWS or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of welding processes, materials and equipment.
• Proficient reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of welding codes, standards and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork within diverse projects.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with MS Office and welding-related software.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of welds and monitor processes to ensure adherence to specs and quality standards.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and welding procedures.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and welding procedure records.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and regulations governing welding operations.
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot welding issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop and improve welding procedures and processes.
• Participate in project meetings and advise on welding requirements and quality issues.
• Lead training for welders on techniques, procedures and safety practices.
• Assist in selecting and qualifying welding personnel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
