Job summary

NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking an experienced Senior Inspector for Atlanta, GA with expertise in structural steel and welding inspections to support commercial, industrial, institutional, and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will hold an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or ICC Structural Steel & Bolting and/or Structural Welding Special Inspector certifications, and possess 3+ years of structural steel inspection experience.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI or ICC Structural Steel/Welding certification is required.
• 3+ years of structural steel inspection experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Perform special inspections of structural steel fabrication and erection activities.
• Conduct visual weld inspections and verification of bolted connections.
• Review construction documents, specifications, shop drawings, and welding procedures.
• Document inspection findings and prepare detailed field reports.
• Coordinate with contractors, project managers, engineers, and clients.
• Identify non-conforming work and provide clear documentation of deficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, IBC requirements, AWS standards, and applicable industry codes.
• Mentor junior inspectors and technicians as needed.

This position is ideal for a highly qualified inspector holding an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or ICC Structural Steel & Bolting and/or Structural Welding Special Inspector certifications.
