Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for an entirely on-site role inspecting fabricated steel assemblies designed to support heavy loads. Read and interpret fabrication drawings, perform routine floor inspections, and maintain daily records.

You will be tested on MAG welding with GMAW spray transfer and NDI methods such as MPI, PT, UT; AWS CWI certification with 3+ years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification and 3+ years of inspection experience.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings/blueprints.
• Experience with NDI methods: MPI, Dye Penetrant, Visual, UT preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office and generating inspection reports.
• On-site testing and inspection of welded fabrications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fabricated steel assemblies on site for structural integrity.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
• Document all inspection results and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain daily inspection records and ensure compliance with standards.

Job description

Manufacturing company that makes fabricated steel products needs Certified Welding Inspectors, also called CWI. This is a completely on-site position. The company provides wonderful benefits. You would work a four-day work week, 10 hours a day. Day and night positions are available. $35-40 per hour.The client has day and night shift positions in Dyersburg, Tennessee. There is also a day shift opening near Florence, South Carolina. These jobs are not in Charlotte. I am trying to find people who might consider relocation.You will be responsible for onsite testing and inspection of fabricated steel assemblies designed to support heavy loads.Read and interpret fabrication drawings.Constant floor inspection and documentation of all manufacturing processes including Cutting, punching, shearing stamping, notching, welding and paint.The welding process is a GMAW Spray Transfer process.All necessary testing and personal protection equipment will be provided by the companyMaintain daily inspection recordsShould be experienced in inspection and test of structures and welds.Experience with Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, Visual, and Ultrasonic inspection (NDI) preferred.RequirementsAWS CWI Certification. Certified Welding Inspector with at least three years’ experience. This is a position in manufacturing, but will consider people with construction, civil engineering, defense, marine, or aerospace experience.Must be able to identify components having cracks, corrosion, faulty welds, or other defects that would affect structural integrity.Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings or blueprints.
