Job summary

Velocity Dynamics, LLC, a subsidiary of Cleanwater1, Inc., is seeking a Welder for its Grain Valley, Missouri facility. The successful candidate will perform TIG and MIG welding for frames and sub-assemblies, review blueprints, and ensure welds meet blueprint tolerances.

This is a full-time, on-site role reporting to the Production Manager. Qualifications include welding certification, ability to read shop drawings, knowledge of metallurgy, and proficiency in TIG/MIG welding on 304 & 316

Qualifications

• Welding certification is required.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of general shop tools and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and do general math.
• Ability to interpret and work from shop drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of metallurgy.
• Knowledge of TIG and MIG welding on 304 & 316 stainless steel.
• Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques.
• Clear and concise oral and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints prior to starting a project.
• Source the materials to be used in the project.
• Measure and cut materials to blueprint specifications.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Weld materials to join metals.
• Weld components in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
• Inspect finished work for tolerances against blueprints.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures for flaws.
• Operate press brake, saws and other fabrication equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Conserve resources and minimize waste.
• Comply with safety and PPE policies.
• Meet project deadlines and shipping schedules.
• Maintain a clean and efficient shop and production area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
