Job summary

J.F. Brennan Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our La Crosse, WI team. You will perform structural and pipe welding, equipment repairs, and fabrication work in a physically demanding environment, following strict standards and safety practices.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of welding experience, high school diploma, and AWS certifications (3G/4G, 6G). Proficiency with MIG/TIG/Stick welding and oxy-fuel cutting is required. Travel up to 25% may be requested.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; vocational training or some college preferred.
• AWS D1.1 3G/4G and B2.1 6G certifications required; 1-4G certifications preferred.
• 2+ years welding experience with heavy manual labor.
• Ability to work with supervisors and team members on demanding tasks.
• Identify material flaws, troubleshoot equipment, and produce quality welds.
• Knowledge of metals, fuels and chemicals used in welding applications.
• Experience installing equipment and conducting tests/inspections.
• Must meet precise standards of accuracy and performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding and ensure welds meet certified standards.
• Set up and maintain welding machines and oxy-fuel cutting equipment.
• Read and interpret welding drawings.
• Repair and fabricate equipment using cutting torches, presses and hand tools.
• Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
• Use scheduling/tracking tools to complete work orders and payroll time.
• Collaborate in a team environment and participate in safety meetings.
• Willing to travel up to 25% as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
