Job summary

Board of Water Works of Pueblo, Colorado seeks a Certified Water Treating Operator to operate water treatment and pumping facilities as a scheduled or relief worker. The operator will ensure that treated water meets or exceeds state and federal Safe Drinking Water Standards.

Placement is based on certifications and years of experience; candidates may be considered for an in-training position with a D certification or higher.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Colorado Class 'R' Driver’s License or equivalent.
• Excellent math and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of water treatment chemicals, machinery, instrumentation, tools and equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisors and the public.

Responsibilities

• Operate water treatment and pumping facilities as scheduled or relief worker.
• Ensure treated water meets or exceeds state and federal Safe Drinking Water Standards.
• Work in shifts as the plant operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
