Job summary

PetVet Care Centers’ Cedar Mill Hospital in Portland, Oregon seeks a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team and support hospital operations with high-quality patient care and exceptional service to pets and clients.

The role involves patient examinations, nursing care, surgical assistance, record-keeping, and client communication within a collaborative, pet-centered culture. A sign-on bonus up to $1,000 is available based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience with veterinary appointments, surgeries, and nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients.
• CVT certification required by state.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Determine animal requirements by examinations and interviews, review care plans and records, perform lab tests and imaging.
• Provide nursing care by monitoring vitals, administering medications, vaccines, and wound care.
• Assist with examinations and surgeries by preparing supplies, restraining patients, and aiding the veterinarian.
• Maintain medical records by documenting conditions, reactions, and changes in the database.
• Communicate with pet owners about patient status as directed by the veterinarian.
• Maintain equipment and inventory; ensure sterilization and safe handling of supplies.
