Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician (Surgical Assistant) to join our dynamic team. The role involves assisting in surgical procedures, providing perioperative care, and supporting our veterinary surgeons. This position is Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-6:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment.
• Prepare surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Monitor and maintain anesthesia under supervision.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including patient monitoring and recovery.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Perform diagnostic procedures like lab tests and radiographs.
• Ensure cleanliness of the surgical suite and equipment.
• Educate pet owners on postoperative care and medication.
• Assist with emergency cases as needed.
• Participate in ongoing education to stay current with surgical practices.

Qualifications:

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with a valid Oregon license.
• At least 1 year of experience in veterinary surgery or emergency settings.
• Proficient in anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting.
• Strong veterinary medical terminology knowledge.
