Job summary

Progressive Animal Wellness in Avon, CT seeks an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to support outpatient care and procedural services including surgery and dentistry. The role is primarily a room technician with scheduled surgical time, valuing clinical knowledge, judgment, and strong communication.

You will handle anesthesia, dental procedures, record-keeping, client education, and collaboration across the hospital.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of veterinary technician experience.
• Active, good-standing CT CVT license required.
• Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and out-of-state license transfer eligible.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, anesthesia monitoring, dental prophylaxis, radiography, and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Assisting in surgery
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
