Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education required for Credentialed Veterinary Technician status.
• Must have at least 1-year previous experience as a Veterinary Technician.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be compassionate and maintain professional attitude in stressful situations.
• Must have telephone and computer skills.
• Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, record vitals, and begin patient history in EMR.
• Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Handle patients, process samples, dispense medications as directed, and maintain EMR.
• Schedule, educate clients, relay results, and manage inventory and accounts.
• Prepare patients for procedures and monitor anesthesia; discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Participate in training and keep the hospital environment clean.
• Perform additional duties and provide front desk backup when required.
