Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for St. Mary’s Hospital to assist the operative team by preparing sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.

You will support aseptic technique, ensure proper case preparation, and help with pre/post procedure cleaning in a fast-paced surgical setting. Applicants should have an Associate’s degree or equivalent Surgical Technology credential and be certified (CST/NCCT/NBSTA or TS-C as applicable).

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association preferred.
• Must be certified by CST, NBSTA or TS-C (TS-C not accepted for Cincinnati Surgical Tech jobs).
• Registered CST with Virginia Board of Medicine required if currently reside in Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure and maintains aseptic technique.
• Prepares, maintains, and organizes sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure.
• Assists with pre and post procedure cleaning of the operative room and instruments.
• Prepares and performs surgical skin prep and clipping as indicated by procedure.
• Provides complete case preparation with the ability to adapt to special instruments, supplies, and equipment.
