Job Summary and Qualifications

The Certified Surgical Technician provides safe and efficient care in the operating room, with a strong knowledge of the perioperative setting and effective communication skills aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications Needed

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
• Graduation from a formal operating room technology program, with passing the CST exam within 180 days of graduation
• Preferred: Two years of operating room experience
• Certification as CST by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or TS-C by the National Center for Competency Testing
