Job summary

OrthoIndy in Brownsburg, IN is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our nationally recognized team. Our CSTs scrub on orthopedic procedures, prepare sterile instruments, and maintain a clean, safe environment to support the surgical team in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

In this PRN role, we offer 8-hour weekday shifts with no weekends, with a minimum of three shifts per six-week schedule and eligibility for our 401(k) program with a generous match after 90 days of service.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology is required.
• Certified Surgical Technician certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares sterile setup with instruments, supplies, equipment, and solutions/medications for cases and assists surgeons in all types of procedures.
• Performs counts as established by policy and procedure.
• Reviews surgeon preference cards.
• Maintains aseptic environment for patients.
• Maintains clean, safe operating room environment and equipment.
• Assists in control of supplies and medications.

Education

General Statement of Duties:

Our Certified Surgical Technologists are responsible for performing a variety of duties in the operating room area to assist the surgical team, such as scrubbing on all types of orthopedic surgical procedures, preparing equipment and sterile instruments for use, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

At our outpatient surgery center in Brownsburg, the CST assists with a variety of outpatient procedures and surgeries that require a 23 hour or less stay.

Essential Duties:

• Prepares sterile setup with instruments, supplies, equipment, and solutions/medications for cases as needed and assists surgeons in all types of procedures as required.
• Performs appropriate counts as established by policy and procedure.
• Reviews surgeon preference cards.
• Maintains aseptic environment for patients.
• Maintains clean, safe, and functional operation room environment and equipment.
• Assists professional personnel in the control of supplies and medications.
• Ensures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation and equipment used.
