OrthoIndy Hospital in Greenwood, IN is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our OIH Surgical Services team. The role supports the operating room during orthopedic cases with four 10-hour weekday shifts, 7:00 am–5:30 pm, and a rotating day off.

We offer full benefits and minimal on-call obligations in a physician-owned hospital environment. Applicants should have an Associate's degree in surgical technology, be certified, and hold BLS; new grads are welcomed.

General Statement of Duties: Our Certified Surgical Technologists are responsible for performing a variety of duties in the operating room area to assist the surgical team, such as scrubbing on all types of orthopedic surgical procedures, preparing equipment and sterile instruments for use, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

At our Greenwood hospital, we have four operating rooms and complete over 500 cases per month, a mix of outpatient and inpatient orthopedic cases. The types of cases you can expect are total joints, sports medicine, spine, hand/foot/ankle, and hand/wrist/elbow/shoulder. We have 15 inpatient beds for patients undergoing more invasive procedures, such as disc replacement, spinal fusion or total joint replacement.

Essential Duties

• 1. Prepares sterile setup with instruments, supplies, equipment, and solutions/medications for cases as needed and assists surgeons in all types of procedures as required.
• 2. Performs appropriate counts as established by policy and procedure.
• 3. Reviews surgeon preference cards.
• 4. Maintains aseptic environment for patients.
• 5..Maintains clean, safe, and functional operation room environment and equipment.
• 6. Assists professional personnel in the control of supplies and medications.
• 7. Ensures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation and equipment used.
