Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technician for the Capital Region Medical Center operating room in Jefferson City, MO. This on-site role supports pre-op to post-op activities and collaborates with the surgical team to ensure efficient, safe patient care.

The position offers a base pay range of $27.21–$42.99 per hour, plus a $1.88 per hour special pay through January 2, 2027, and retention rewards up to $15,000. Relocation assistance up to $5,000 is available for eligible moves.

Qualifications

• CST, CORST, or TS-C certification required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team.
• Assists with the teaching of newly hired technologists and student technologists.
• Serves as a role model to new employees and other staff members.
• Communicates effectively with patients, staff members and physicians.
• Adheres to standards, including unit and hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals.
• Demonstrates appropriate and correct case preparation.
• Establishes and maintains sterile field and ensures team maintains sterile environment independently.
• Applies basic knowledge of instrumentations to multiple surgical cases and corrects deficiencies at the case level.
• Performs technical duties involving care, preparation and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment in the operating rooms to provide a safe and effective environment.
• Completes unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
