MU Health Care is seeking a dedicated surgical technician to join our fast-paced operating room team. You will support patient care from pre-op to post-op, coordinate with multiple teams, and help ensure optimal surgical outcomes through proactive organization and process improvement.

Qualifikationen

• One year of surgical technologist experience, or completion of an accredited surgical tech program or MU Health Care Surgical Tech program, or military training.

Aufgaben

• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team.
• Assists with the teaching of newly hired technologists and student technologists.
• Serves as a role model to new employees and other staff members.
• Communicates effectively with patients, staff members and physicians.
• Adheres to standards, including unit and hospital policies, regulatory standards and patient safety goals.
• Demonstrates appropriate and correct case preparation.
• Establishes and maintains sterile field and ensures the team maintains a sterile environment.
• Applies basic knowledge of instrumentations to multiple surgical cases; corrects deficiencies at the case level.
• Performs technical duties involving care, preparation and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment in the operating rooms.
• Completes unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
